Association for Social Development and Aid Mobilization (ASAM) established in 1995, is an independent, impartial and non-profit association to assist all vulnerable groups within Türkiye, including refugees and asylum seekers. ASAM focuses on cross cutting issues of the vulnerable individuals and communites in order to achieve its main vision, where vulnerabilities transform into strengths, and every individual enjoys a life of dignity, security, equity and opportunity.
ASAM Greece, established in 2016 as a representative office of ASAM in Athens, registered as a local NGO with the mandate of capitalizing on ASAM’s background and track record for the benefit of the refugees, migrants and other vulnerable individuals of the country.
Within the framework of our ongoing/upcoming project, we are looking for a teammate for the role of “Project Assistant” to be assigned full time basis with one year-contract in ASAM Greece in Athens with the following qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinating, following up, and monitoring all program/project components and activities, including human and financial resources within the scope of the program/project.
- Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on activities conducted at the center and in the field, in collaboration with the reporting unit.
- Establishing communication between ASAM field offices and the funding organization, as well as preparing or ensuring the completion of required reporting.
- Sharing updates on the current situation regarding vulnerable groups legislative changes that may impact the Association’s work, and any gaps in the implementation of legislation with all relevant staff.
- Establishing cooperation with public institutions, local actors, civil society organizations, and INGOs, in alignment with the project’s objectives, and representing the Association in external meetings.
- Informing the ASAM Headquarters regularly on the progress of activities and the achievement of project goals.
- Managing financial processes by reporting program expenditures, filing financial documents, and ensuring the monitoring and reporting of administrative financial transactions.
- Overseeing corporate communications and controlling the institution’s social media accounts to maintain consistency and alignment with the organization’s mission.
General Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Project Management, Public Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an asset.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project/program coordination, preferably within I/NGOs or humanitarian sector.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
- Demonstrated experience in managing financial resources and reporting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively with public institutions, civil society organizations, and international stakeholders.
- Familiarity with refugee-related legislation and the challenges faced by vulnerable groups.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and project management tools.
- Strong teamwork and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Experience in corporate communications and managing social media accounts is a plus.
